We had short notice warning that the heating would be off at Caroline Chisholm School and so members were advised to wear warm clothing.for our AGM on Saturday 6th March.

AGM RALLY SESSIONFearing the worst, Pat Heed started the morning with a lively first session that certainly got us warmed up.

Leaving only a short break so that we wouldn’t get chilled, Kathie Lynch took the second session which maintained the energy.

Following a break for lunch, it was decided to hold the meeting itself in the refreshment room, rather than adjourn to the large unheated hall.  This  proved very successful and made for an informal, relaxed meeting.

Barbara Moffatt concluded her two year appointment as Chair and handed over the reins to Pat Kaye, who will be our Chair for the next two years. This is always a sad occasion for any outgoing Chair and Barbara marked her departure by producing the Leics/Northants County Team in Rouge et Noir.

Barbara & Pat Loft The presentation of the Frances Treasure Award was made to Pat Loft in recognition of her many years of support both for the KFA and Parkinsons Disease.

Copies of the Chairs Report, Minutes and Treasurer’s report can be obtained upon request to any committee member.

We then moved back into the main hall for the demonstrations by East Midlands members and teams.   This was to be the very last performance by the East Midlands Dem Team who have been a major contributor to every AGM since their inauguration (follow this link to read more about the Regional Dem Team)

The EM skipping team then faultlessly performed an item combining skipping and rope work, making it look all so easy.  They all came together again for an ABBA tribute ‘Thank you for the Music.

Rouge et NoirAs usual, the finale to our demonstrations is a performance by the Leics/Northants Counties Demonstration team.  This was to be Barbara Moffat’s ‘Swan Song’ so there was an added emotion to the performance and music ‘Lady in Red’.
